If it seems like your dollars do not make sense, this class may be for you. One of the first steps to financial security is planning and following through on a personal budget. Budgeting is about choices, choosing how to make money and how to spend it.  This class will help you understand your cash flow and how to better manage what God has blessed you with.

If you build it, they will call.  The bible teaches us that when you have debt, you become a slave. Imagine being free of debt -- no more sleepless nights, anxieties or chances of threats from dreaded collection agencies. You can do it!  (*should attend “Bail Out” class first)

• Recognize what depreciating assets are

“Credit 101 - Crash Course”*

Sooner or later almost everyone needs to borrow money.  Used wisely, credit can benefit you and your family.  An important step to financial security is to understand your credit report and how to build a positive history.  This course will provide you with information on credit reports, how to repair credit and resources available to you.

The participants of this class will:

• Explore ways to maintain good credit
• Identify all three credit reporting agencies and how to read and understand each report
• Recognize credit repair scams
• Identify available resources
• Learn how to recognize and avoid identity theft

Banks can still help you achieve your goals.  Explore the detailed steps of opening and managing a checking account, writing checks, making deposits, recording your transactions in a register, and understanding your monthly statement.  Look at different ways and places to save your money so that it may grow in value.

• Identify the benefits to online bill pay
• Recognize fraud on your account and ways to protect yourself

• Learn what a CD is and when its appropriate to establish one

Be blessed to be a blessing.  One biblical example is in Jacob who embraced, kissed and laid hands on his sons and grandchildren.  By giving a hug or a touch, we communicate love and blessings and teach our children how to pass it on to their children.  This class will discuss how to leave both spiritual and financial blessings to your family.
